And no, I’m not talking about the hentai scenes – those were actually quite standard, where you had to move your mouse in tune with the sexual acts, hold your mouse button, or hit a glaring red button for the grand finale. With that being said, I did find the sex scenes a bit frustrating – the commands are not that responsive, and sometimes I had to figure out what I was doing wrong. As an example, there’s a scene where you have to lick the boots of a perverted Nazi queen. You do that by moving your mouse up and down until the bar tracking your progress fills up. What made me a bit irritated was that I had to place my mouse on a certain part of the screen for it to work. And no, it wasn’t the boot, it was way behind the Naziwaffen’s head.

As for the less perverted gameplay, I don’t think the creators of this game made responsiveness their main priority. There are specific parts in the game where you have to jump over mines or barrels and duck under carts. I lost a lot of HP trying to time it right, simply because my input was lagging. Truthfully, it could have been my internet connection, but I don’t think the powerful speed we have today can struggle with a simple flash game. In the very first scene, you have to shoot the tentacles of the octopus. However, I had to restart the game two times before I got the prompt – I shot the octopus for five minutes straight, until I gave up in frustration, having to return to the game a few minutes later. It was only then that my teammate told me to shoot the tentacles! Still, Saving Soldier Ryanna has a fun story, and I can overlook some of the glaring issues it has in favor of the parody remake of one of the most renowned movies out there.

The visual style is not the end of the world

But it’s close! It looks like a poorly made drawing someone did in Paint. The proportions of the characters are exaggerated, but not in a sexy way. The genitals are exquisitely drawn, however, and that’s what counts I guess. The physics are a bit wonky, but I might be expecting too much from a porn browser game.

The soundtrack is awesome though! It’s energizing and fun, and it pumped me up when I had to shoot Nazi soldiers preventing me from entering their base. If you’re not a metal fan, you might find it a bit too much, but I thought it was a nice change of pace from the regular simple music I come across often. It can be a bit repetitive, but the scenes don’t last that long so you won’t get tired of it so fast. There’s no voice acting, besides a few moans here and there.

Saving Soldier Ryanna is a funny parody of Saving Private Ryan that every lover of porn games should try at least once. The racy scenes are hot, the gameplay is fun, and the dialogues are entertaining. Although the visual style is way too simple, I still found it to be charming after I spent five minutes playing.
