The protagonist awakens in his room, dazed by his wet dreams. Suddenly, you hear from Satan himself, as he explains why you’re suddenly missing such an important piece of yourself. No, it’s not your massive dick, it’s your mortal soul! You had a lot of fun having sex with all kinds of people, not having to chase them or woo them. But after a while, all of that passionate fucking has lost its fun – there’s no thrill in it, no fun when you get what you want as soon as you want it. You might as well use your fleshlight and go back to watching porn. Which is exactly what you’re doing.
But, all of a sudden, something strange has happened – someone rings the doorbell in the porno you’re watching, even though it’s not supposed to be an orgy. As you’re sitting there all confused, the doorbell rings again, and that’s when the realization comes. It’s actually your doorbell! How is that possible?! There’s security in front of your house, they would have informed you if someone was coming! You turn on your front door camera and find… no one. The bell keeps ringing. You get up to open the door, even if you already know it’s a terrible idea. As the door opens, someone screams “FEAT NOT!”, but you stumble down on the floor, blinded by the light. Your skin is soft, your hair smooth, and there’s no Cheeto dust on your fingers. While you’re wondering what the hell just happened, a petite yet curvy girl appears on your doorstep. Her name is Cherry, and her fashion choices are questionable. You back away to grab the phone, but then Cherry lets you know that your security let her through. And how you might be wondering? She cast a subduing spell on your protectors, causing them to drop their priorities and go straight to fucking!
Apparently Cherry is Cupid’s cousin, and she used her magical arrows on your all-female security team just to get through to you. Fear takes over, and you curse Cherry, letting her know that your soul is up for grabs after you’re dead, not before! Lucky for you though, Cherry is an angel, and she’s here to reclaim your soul. You insult Cherry, for some unknown reason, as she explains that heaven tries to bring every soul back into the light. After some friendly banter, you find out that you’re about to die, and before you get the chance to complain, Cherry gently presses her angelic finger onto your forehead, showing you a glimpse of Hell. To no surprise, you’re convinced to let Cherry help your poor mortal soul. And you’ll do that by exorcising the Seven Deadly Sins. Sounds easy, right?
The narrative is impressive
If you’re a fan of visual novels, Un/Holy is probably going to become one of your staple games. This is just the first chapter, but there are already four out. You’re going to be dealing with the Seven Sins, after all, so expect to see at least seven chapters. As for the gameplay itself, there’s not much to think about here. It plays like any visual novel – you click through the impressive narrative and enjoy the story woven by a master of their craft.
Porngames don’t usually have such developed stories, so I was quite surprised to see how well this was done. The dialogues feel natural, there are a lot of jokes to lighten up the mood, and although the story itself is very much not realistic, the situations our protagonist finds himself in feel like a true wet dream. I mean, there’s nothing erotic about selling your soul for money and power. But there is a lot to envy the protagonist for – he constantly runs into chicks that are horny for him, his guardian angel Cherry does not wear underwear and constantly exposes herself, plus the first sin you’re looking for is masturbation. You’ll be running around Japan, looking into three different babes to see which one is the demon in disguise. One is a stripper, one is a CEO, and the last one is a porn star. All you have to do is click the call button once you found the demon and enjoy the racy animations of the girls begging to devour your cock.
I sometimes found myself clicking through the dialogue just to get to the point. That could be just my impatience, as I simply wanted to see what the babes are going to do to me now. There’s not a lot of difficult gameplay here, since all you’re doing is following the story. Og, and when a perverted scene begins, you can press the spacebar to hide the text.
There are a few inside jokes in Un/Holy. The lovely Cherry mentions playing adult games that have the same toys as you do, and you figure out that she’s been playing the Void chapters! Also, at the end of this installment, the mascot for Wet Pussy Games appears; but your dick is drained dry, and sadly you don’t screw her right there and then, on that dinky public bench in the middle of Tokyo.
The visual style is simple
There’s not much to say about the visual style of the game. It is completely free to play, and there’s no need to download any large files, so it’s expected to see simple graphics. It’s all in 2D, done in a simple cartoony style straight out of an art student’s first portfolio. The girls are drawn in a hentai style, but when the steamy action begins, their faces look completely different, more akin to Western-style animation. That kind of threw me off, but both of the drawing styles have their own merits.
The sounds and music in the game are very simple as well. The soundtrack is always the same, so it can become repetitive. However, it’s a good soundtrack, so I didn’t mind listening to it all the time. There’s no voice acting, and you can hear the faint sounds of moaning from time to time. Barely there, like a horny ghost from your past.
Un/Holy 7’s Dirty Little Secret
As I was writing this review, I went ahead and played the next three chapters. As the second chapter loaded, I was surprised to see that it had the exact same start. The dialogues were the same, with an added option to let Cherry fall when she dances, exposing her delicious pink pussy. I remembered that Cherry said she’ll reset your memory each time you caught a demon, so I was hoping that I’ll continue catching new demons. Nope. It was Masturbation, the same sin from the first chapter. The only differences were some bonus dialogues in chapter two, which were exactly the same in chapters 3 and 4. All in all, I’d recommend playing chapter two, for the added dialogue options, and then you can take a break from Un/Holy 7 and play something else while you wait for the actual next chapter of this titillating story!
Conclusion
Un/Holy 7: Chapter 1 is a promising beginning to a very interesting story. After all, you’re going to be chasing around perverted chicks that can’t keep sex out of their thoughts – what’s there not to like? The first chapter is a bit short, but there are three more installments with stories as racy as this one. Visual novels are a very good medium for telling perverted tales, so go ahead and begin enjoying this impressive beginning to a lust-filled game. I’m still sad to say that none of the next chapters are actual continuations of the story – I do hope they make an actual sequel in the future because the premise is promising!
